Digital Media Suite - InfoPlace@ChifleyThe Digital Media Suite is located in InfoPlace@Chifley, level 2. It provides a range of digitising, authoring and publishing tools and is available to staff and students of the Australian National University for work, study or research related purposes. There is no charge for use of the facilities. The equipment enables you to scan and capturce materials from a variety of sources, such as photographs, illustrations, transparencies or video and incorporate them into electronic documents. Professional authoring software is available for you to edit scanned images, create web pages and multimedia presentations, author printed documents, and burn interactive or archival CD-ROMs in a variety of formats. Help - Orientation SessionsBefore using the facilities for the first time, it is highly recommended that you attend an Orientation Session, which will provide a basic introduction to the equipment available and its use. Orientation sessions run by appointment. Speak to a AskANU IT Consultant or e-mail dms@anu.edu.au to book in for a session. Limited ongoing assistance can be provided by the AskANU IT Consultant, but generally only after you've attended an Orientation Session. For further training or assistance, please speak with the AskANU IT Consultant or e-mail ask ask@anu.edu.au to make an appointment with someone expert in the use of the equipment. Reference books and manuals are provided for all main applications and may be used within the Digital Media Suite. (These are not available for loan.) BookingsBookings may be made either by speaking with the AskANU IT Consultants on level 2 in the Chifley Library or by sending an e-mail message to dms@anu.edu.au. When making an e-mail booking, please include your full name, the system you wish to book, the date and time of the booking and how long you wish to book for. If booking by e-mail, please allow enough time to receive confirmation of your booking. Except in special circumstances, equipment may only be booked for up to two hours at a time and up to 12 hours per week.
