Editing your PDF File
Creation of Files for Submission to the Australasian Digital Theses Program (ADT)
Note: Use these instructions only if your whole thesis has already been converted to one single PDF file.
- Open this original PDF version of your thesis with Adobe Acrobat 7.0
- Resave this file and name it 02whole.pdf (File > Save As)
- Resave this file and name it 01front.pdf (File > Save As)
- This file only requires the introductory pages of your thesis. Therefore, pages from the beginning of Chapter 1 to the end of the last chapter are not required and need to be deleted as follows:
- Go to the first page you would like to delete from the file (e.g. the beginning of Chapter 1)
- From the menu select Document > Delete Pages
- In the dialogue box
- select the From radio button
- type in the page number which you would like to delete from (e.g. 8)
- type in the page number which you would like to delete to (e.g. 310)
- Press OK
- Save the file(File > Save)
- Close this file
Please note: If any of these files are larger than 4MB, then split your thesis into smaller size files following the file naming instructions above (in "How do I name my files so they meet ANU ADT file name standards?").
