Course Award in Graduate Research Information Literacy

Course Award in Graduate Research Information Literacy

Formal Description

The Course Award in Graduate Research Information Literacy is a one semester equivalent course. It is not taken as credit towards a university award.

Students who complete the course develop skills in Information Searching, in Information Management and in Information Technology.

The coursework requires students to complete a minimum of 10 training modules. In addition, students complete an advanced Literature Review Project and attend a Research Sources Consultation. Approximately 15 hours additional work outside formal class time is therefore required for successful completion.

You can complete the Course Award in Graduate Research Information Literacy if you are currently enrolled in a:

1. PhD OR
2. MPhil OR
3. Masters degree that has a significant research component (e.g. sub-thesis).

Students benefit most if they complete the course award at the beginning of their candidature.

Masters by coursework and graduate diploma students are unable to enrol because these degrees do not have the necessary research component.
