Opening & Closing EndNote Libraries

Opening an Existing Library

  • With the EndNote program active, go to the File menu
  • Choose Open > Open Library
  • Locate the library you wish to use
  • Click on the button

ENDNOTE TIP:

An example of an EndNote Library can be found on the C drive. Go to Windows Explorer. Click on Program Files. Click on EndNote9. Click on Examples.

Click on Paleo.

When you first open an EndNote Library you will see the references sorted in a similar manner to that shown below. You can browse through the references by using the scroll bars, the page up and down keys on the keyboard, or the arrow keys.

ENDNOTE TIP:

References can be easily sorted by clicking on the column headings

(eg: Author, Year, Title)
