Saving

Saving References

In EndNote when you close a reference you automatically save the reference at the same time. To close a reference simply click on the X button at the top right of the screen.

Backing Up Libraries

The loss of your EndNote library can be a very serious matter. You should backup your library on a regular basis, as often as you would your document files. EndNote recommend that you keep several backup copies of your EndNote libraries, and that these backup copies are stored in different places. You should think of copying your files onto CD or onto a USB drive.

If your library is too large to save onto a CD or USB drive then you will need to use a backup program.

Backing Up Modified Styles

Don't forget to back up any styles that you have modified so you do not have to redo the work to format your references as you want them.
