Find Citations: This function allows you to search for EndNote references and to select and insert the references into a Word document.

Go To EndNote: This function will take you back to your EndNote library and enable youto browse for references and select references to move into a Word document.

Format Bibliography: This function allows you to format your bibliography with a chosen style and to alter the layout of a bibliography already in a Word document.

Insert Selected Citation: This function allows you to insert a selected EndNote citation into a Word document.

Edit Citation: This function allows you to edit a citation. Importantly, it can be used to add page numbers to a citation.

Insert Note: Use this function to insert custom text when using numbered styles

Edit Library References: Use this function to edit an EndNote library reference as you cannot make changes directly to an EndNote reference in Word. Highlight the reference in Word, click this function and edit the reference.

Unformat Citations: This function reverts formatted citations to temporary citations and removes the bibliography. This is useful when you are merging Word documents and want a single bibliography. (If you need to format unformatted citations use the Format Bibliography function)

Remove Field Codes: EndNote places field codes with your citations in Word. These may need to be removed if you are submitting a document to a publisher or you need to open the document with a different version of Word. It is a good idea to save your document with codes then copy the document and remove the codes as once they are removed you can no longer link to EndNote and citations become plain text.

Export Travelling Library: When citations are formatted in EndNote, the reference data is also embedded in the document. The document then contains a "travelling library" of all the references used in the document. You can copy references from a travelling library in Word into an EndNote library. A travelling library is deleted if a document is unformatted.

Find Figures: Use this function to locate figures in an EndNote library for inclusion in your document.

Generate Figures List: Generates a list of figures inserted from an EndNote library.

Cite While You Write Preferences: Use this box to change some general Cite While You Write preferences

Help: Opens the Help menu.
