Formatting the Bibliography

Formatting the Bibliography in Word

Your bibliography will be formatted using the style that is currently selected in EndNote. You can change the style both from within EndNote and Word.

In Word use the Format Bibliography icon to make changes to the bibliography. You will now have the Format Bibliography pop-up window.

You can now select from the four heading tabs these are:

Format Bibliography

Even if you have already inserted references and generated your bibliography with a style, you can easily change the style by simply using the drop down menu of styles in the Format Bibliography pop-up box and watch changes being made to the formatting of your references.

Layout

The layout menu in the Format Bibliography pop-up box allows you to change the font used for the bibliography, the size of the font and the indenting and line spacing of references.

Instant Formatting

This can be used to temporarily remove bibliographical references and then to reinstall them. This is useful when merging Word documents or combining files using Master Documents. Use the Unformat citations icon to unformat citations and remove bibliographical references. Then use the Format Bibliography icon. And select Instant Formatting to reformat the references and recreate the bibliography.
