What is the ANU Graduate Course Award in Research Information Literacy? The ANU Graduate Course Award in Research Information Literacy is a one semester equivalent course offered FREE to graduate research students at the ANU. Students who complete the course have developed skills in Information Searching, in Information Management and in Information Technology. The coursework requires students to complete a minimum of 14 training modules. In addition, students complete an advanced Literature Review Project and attend a Research Sources Consultation.
How can I enrol in the ANU Graduate Course Award in Research Information Literacy? No formal registration process is required. However, please contact the Graduate Information Literacy Program, stating that you intend to start the Graduate Course Award. For full details on registration click here. Download a checklist of course requirements so you can organise your session registrations. Courses attended from 2005 will appear in your ISIS training record and can be printed out from there. Graduate Information Literacy Program courses undertaken as early as 2003 may count towards your Course Award. Contact grad.ilp@anu.edu.au to ascertain which of your 2003 and 2004 course attendances can count towards your Course Award.
Masters by coursework and graduate diploma students are unable to enrol because these degrees do not have the necessary research component.
The project may be submitted in either MS Word, LaTeX, as a webpage, or in PowerPoint. Point 2 above can be satisfied with an annotated EndNote library. More details and how to submit click here.
How do I organise a Research Consultation (for the Graduate Course Award in Research Information Literacy)? We will organise the research consultation for you. Please do not arrange the research consultation yourself. The research consultation is held with a subject specialist information consultant. This will involve an in-depth look at sources specific to your thesis project. The research consultation occurs after we have received your completed Literature Review Project. Please email: grad.ilp@anu.edu.au to arrange a consultation.
IF YOUR QUESTION IS NOT HERE OR YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT GILP AT grad.ilp@anu.edu.au
