This session will look at identifying key progress indicators in managing a research degree. Students will be introduced to a model timeline for managing a PhD thesis. Additional training, facilities and services that are available at the ANU to help research students will also be discussed.
Prerequisite: Nil. This course will be especially useful to those who have only recently begun a PhD.
Please note this will be a seminar not a hands-on learning session.
Learning outcomes:
- Time management skills necessary for producing a PhD thesis
- Knowledge of facilities and services that are provided by the ANU to assist students in completing a thesis
- Knowledge of the regulations associated with formatting a print-based thesis and some guides on best-practice in meeting these requirements
- Awareness of the Australian Digital Thesis Program and training available to help students electronically publish their thesis and issues associated with e-publishing.
