IT courses for all ANU students

These FREE courses include: Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, HTML, SPSS, C+. These courses count towards your Graduate Course Award in Research Information Literacy. Attendance at one or more of these courses (taught over 2 sessions) satisfies the requirements for one component of the Information Technology stream. Academic Skills and Learning Centre

Individual Consultations (Postgraduate Students)
You can make an appointment to discuss academic skills and learning issues and/or drafts of your work with an Adviser. Consultations are 50 minutes and you can book on 6125 2972.

Sessions especially For Graduate Coursework students
1. Maths and Statistics Assistance
Assistance is available for students having trouble or feeling inadequately prepared in Mathematics or Statistics, e.g. Chemistry, Economics, Biology, Psychology or Earth Sciences. Phone the Centre with enquiries – 6125 2972.

2. Seminar presentation: effective structure
This workshop examines the nature and elements of a graduate seminar presentation, how to choose and focus your topic and how to structure your presentation in a methodical manner so that you can communicate it to your audience effectively. To enrol go to http://www.anu.edu.au/academicskills/oars

3. Seminar presentation: performance aspects
This workshop examines issues of confidence-building, giving and getting positive evaluation, the use of body language and the use of visual aids. To enrol go to http://www.anu.edu.au/academicskills/oars

4. Seminar presentation: active participation strategies
